Dear Austin and Wally,
This is perhaps the last letter I shall write you while in the service, and of knowing that you are about to return to me is untold. There was a period not so long ago when I did not expect to see the end of the war, and the suddenness of its termination makes one dizzy. I am so glad that you were able to supply useful service due to your interest from early days in radio. We are all waiting your united return including little Marguerite Ann who will not for a long while be able to understand what it was all about but, if you do as I have requested make a detailed account (none too trivial) of your experiences while it is fresh in your mind, be sure it will be read many times. I trust that Courtney and Sylvia will be out in time to visit you in the North I will welcome them. The high winds of the past days have subsided and you will be able to swim here still the water strangely being at its highest at about 68 or 69. Awaiting your return.
Affectionately.
